This Privacy Policy explains how VPNOnline.com ("VPNOnline.com," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use this website. VPNOnline.com is an independent editorial and comparison website. We do not operate a VPN service and we do not sell VPN subscriptions ourselves.
Privacy at a glance
- We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising pixels, or browser-based behavioral analytics.
- The static website has no user accounts, comments, checkout, newsletter signup, live chat, or contact form.
- Cloudflare delivers, caches, and protects the website. We use aggregate traffic, performance, and security information available at Cloudflare's edge.
- Google Search Console helps us monitor how the site appears in Google Search. It does not add a visitor-tracking script or cookie to this website.
- If you email us or follow an affiliate link, additional information is processed as described below.
Who is responsible for the website?
VPNOnline.com is responsible for the processing described in this policy. Privacy questions and data-rights requests can be sent to info@vpnonline.com.
Information processed when you visit
When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process technical request data needed to deliver and secure it. Depending on the request and security event, this can include your IP address, requested URL, date and time, HTTP headers, browser or user-agent information, approximate location derived from the IP address, and routing, cache, performance, or threat signals.
We use Cloudflare's aggregate edge reports to understand broad traffic levels, availability, performance, caching, and security events. We do not place a Cloudflare Web Analytics browser beacon on the site, and the static application does not maintain a separate raw visitor-log database.
Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to verify site ownership, submit and inspect sitemaps, diagnose crawling or indexing problems, and review aggregate search-performance information such as queries, pages, countries, impressions, and clicks. Search Console receives this information from Google Search; it does not require us to install Google Analytics or a tracking tag on your browser.
Cookies and local storage
VPNOnline.com does not set optional analytics, advertising, personalization, or preference cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies or similar identifiers when it needs to provide security features, bot management, load balancing, or a challenge. These are used to operate and protect the service, not to build advertising profiles for VPNOnline.com.
Because we do not use optional analytics or advertising cookies, the static website does not display a consent banner. If we later introduce technology that requires consent, we will update this policy and obtain consent before activating it where required.
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name, message, attachments, and related mail metadata. We use it to answer your request, evaluate corrections, manage partnerships, protect our rights, and keep necessary business records. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your request.
Affiliate links and third-party websites
Some links on VPNOnline.com are affiliate links, including links that pass through a VPNOnline.com /go/ address before sending you to a provider. The redirect request can be included in Cloudflare's operational or aggregate traffic data. Once you reach the provider, that provider receives the normal technical data associated with visiting its website and applies its own privacy policy.
We may receive an aggregate or transaction-level affiliate report if a purchase is attributed to one of our links. We do not receive your VPN browsing activity, and we do not control the information a provider collects when you use its website or service. Review the provider's current privacy terms before creating an account or buying a subscription.
Why we process information
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or a similar law applies, our legal bases are:
- Legitimate interests: delivering and securing the website, preventing abuse, measuring aggregate performance, maintaining editorial quality, and responding to ordinary correspondence.
- Steps at your request: responding when you contact us about a correction, commercial enquiry, or another request that may lead to an agreement.
- Legal obligations and legal claims: keeping or disclosing limited records where lawfully required and protecting legal rights.
- Consent: only where a future optional feature legally requires it. No optional analytics or advertising feature currently relies on consent because none is active.
Who may receive information?
Information may be processed by Cloudflare and other vendors that provide hosting, content delivery, security, email, or technical support. Google processes Search Console data under its own terms. A VPN provider or other third party receives information when you choose to follow its link or use its service. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the website, or in connection with a legitimate business reorganization.
International transfers
Service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where transfer rules apply, we rely on the provider's applicable data-processing terms, adequacy decisions, approved contractual safeguards, or another lawful transfer mechanism.
How long is information retained?
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here. The static application does not maintain its own visitor-profile database. Cloudflare retains technical and security information according to the services and account settings in use. Aggregate reports may be retained to compare site performance over time. Email is kept while a request is active and, where needed, afterward for reasonable operational, legal, fraud-prevention, or record-keeping purposes.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or an objection to certain processing. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent for the future. We may need to verify your identity and may retain limited information where the law permits or requires it.
VPNOnline.com does not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because those activities are not performed, there is no separate sale or targeted-advertising opt-out on the site.
Children
The website is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account, form, or comment system. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to a static editorial website, including encrypted HTTPS delivery and edge security controls. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
