Baku Grand Prix: Baku's race track, officially called Baku City Circuit, is one of the most fascinating in the Formula 1 world. On its debut in 2017, Daniel Ricciardo already scored an impressive victory in the Red Bull, while seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, despite his pole position, was left without a trophy.
The course is like a trip through the city on the edge of the Caspian Sea. The route runs right through the heart of Baku, passing historical monuments such as the Maiden's Tower. The route winds through the Old Town, along the seafront and ends at Government Square, where fans can cheer on their favorite riders in the home stretch.
With a width of just 7 meters at its narrowest point, the 6.006-kilometer course is often described as the most challenging. This limits overtaking opportunities on the 51 laps, especially in turns 7 and 16, making the starting position all the more crucial.
